It's easier to cheat at home than in-classĮach of these reasons alone should have stopped anyone from thinking Lockdown Browser was a good idea, but here we are. Lockdown Browser is a preventative method, where the prevention is fear To straight up cheat, they have to realize a few things: If you're going to cheat, that's on you, and I hope you solve your bigger issues some day. I've discovered these methods myself inadvertently, and through conversations with friends in faculty. This is purely to show how useless Lockdown Browser is. So first off, I'm not endorsing cheating. I'll post about that later, but honestly this thing is disgusting. There is no way Lockdown Browser has ever been audited.Įdit3: It's been brought to my attention a much, much bigger issue with Lockdown Browser. How this block of Swiss cheese program was ever authorized by Guelph is disappointing. I'm not posting these, partially because I didn't realize how easy it is to cheat the Lockdown Browser, and because I believe that's going too far.Įdit2: I've been sent screenshots of the internal admin panel for Lockdown Browser and some pretty crazy exploits. There's Discord channels and Youtube channels that go in-depth on circumventing the Lockdown Browser. People can stick their head in the sand or go after me, but all I've said is the truth. Lockdown Browser is a useless, invasive, and discriminative spyware - That's the truth. As per Policy 1.6 Policy on Non-Academic Misconduct, "The University of Guelph’s core value is the pursuit of truth.". EDIT: People have warned me that this post is "aiding and abetting" academic misconduct.
